Recent Review

Read Earl B.'s review of Lara's Muffler on Yelp

"Called up Jerry to get an estimate in time and cost. True to his word, he saw my car right away, finished 30 minutes earlier than quoted, kept to his quote over the phone and even made a repair as best he could to a cracked section of my exhaust that he discovered. I am a new customer and will tell everyone that I know needing exhaust work to see Jerry! Great customer service, pricing and super friendly."

About Lara's Muffler

Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. My name is Jerry Lara, owner of Lara's Muffler in Long Beach, CA.

Lara Mufflers and Welding has been in business since 1990. My Father first opened for business in Vernon, Ca where he spent 25 years. In 1996, we opened a second location in Bellflower Ca which was moved to Cerritos, Ca. In November, 2015 we made the decision to combine both locations into one big facility which will allow us to provide the best possible service to our customers.

At Lara's Muffler, we apply our many years knowledge and experience in the exhaust and leaf spring business to achieve the highest quality of work. Our goal is simple. We want you to be so content and satisfied with your visit that you will become a loyal customer of ours and that you will gladly recommend your family and friends here. That would be your ultimate compliment to us. We really appreciate your business and look forward to serving you for many years to come. Thank you for your time.

Catalytic Converters

What is it and why is it important?

A catalytic converter is an emissions component responsible for cleaning the bad air that an engine produces; it is a filter. When it is not working properly, the check engine light usually comes on the vehicle. When a catalytic converter is bad, a car will fail a smog check. When it gets damaged inside, the vehicle might produce rattling noises or the vehicle might run with a lack of power, bad gas mileage, or even run at a higher engine temperature than usual. The converter can be replaced with an original factory part or a state approved aftermarket part.
